Scenery for Microsoft's Flight Sim 2002 & 2004 |

This airfield sit's ontop of a valley, and has a panoramic view overlooking the village's of Haworth & Oxenhope. Haworth is home of the Bronte sisters famous for their novel's such as "Wuthering Heights". There is also a preserved steam railway that runs the length of the valley from Oxenhope, all the way down to Keighley (Keighley & Worth Valley Light Railway). The airstrip sits right next to a caravan park (Upwood) and offers a place to stay the night or camp. If you are using real world weather you can see the conditions with this webcam, the airfield is on the hill in the background about one third from the left. On landing & takeoff beware the walls at each end of the runway. The emergency services are over 7 min's away !!! |

| I made this scenery because i only live 5 min's away from it, and so i could use it for my own pleasure in flight sim. From my front window i watch aircraft coming in for landing, and if i cant do it for real, i can do it in the virtual sky's. I have included some local landmarks in the scenery. At this moment Ovenden moor windfarm, The Wind genny at Gillsons quarry and the local TV transmitter mast (also added some more Arial masts). All of which are good visual aids. These files places thousand of trees into the area surounding X4OX - Oxenhope airfield, these trees extend down the Worth Valley and into Airedale. With a coverage from Bingley all the way up to Skipton of the Aire valley, up the entire Worth valley to Oxenhope and surounding little valleys also. It offers a better representation of the area and it gives flying that little bit extra eye candy. |
