Windfarms of the UK Vol 1 "North of England" For FS2002 / FS2004 By Dale Sedgwick This scenery places 17 wind farms into the North of England. A total of 150 individual wind generators creating enough power for nearly 45 thousand Homes annually. They are geographically correct and designed to fit perfectly with Visual flight / Getmapping VFR Photographic scenery. This is only a small part of the UK's Wind energy production. At the time of writing there are 84 seperate projects in the UK Thats 1063 Turbines in total producing just over 655 megawatts of energy, thats the equivalent of the amount of energy that 411,000 homes would use a year. Reducing CO2 emmisions by 1,480,000 tonnes. This sounds like alot but in reality renewable energy sources in the UK currently generate almost 3% of the total electricity supply, 14% of which comes from wind energy ( this means 0.41% of the total electricity supply is windpower.) Working towards 15% of total electricity supply by 2015. |
